Donna dreams of going on an outing to the beach and dipping her toes in the ocean again and walking on the sand without her walking frame. Serious health issues have meant her dream is still yet to come true, however she is working hard towards making it happen this coming summer and hopes to join other clients on a day trip to one of our beautiful beaches. 

Travelling with Active Care Network since 2019, Donna has been able to attend her exercise classes, social activities and medical appointments in a safe, compassionate and timely way. She says Active Care was the “only service that has stuck by her as she falls through the NDIS cracks for transport and funding. The drivers and everyone make the trips a joy.” 

Getting to the local pool and swimming is a life saver for Donna who has chronic health problems. Donna has been in training since December, swimming laps not only for her own health and wellbeing but to help her raise money for a cause of great importance – teen mental health and suicide prevention.   Donna is proudly participating in March in Reach Out’s Laps for Lives fundraiser. Active Care Network has taken her to the pool, and she has now clocked up over 810 laps, 40 kms!
