Transport Services

For over 30 years, we have provided community transport.

Our team of respectful and competent volunteers and paid staff are experienced in supporting older people, people with disability and others who may need support to access their community through our transport services.

Whether you need to travel to health appointments, go shopping or get together with friends, Active Care Network may be able to help.

Health Related Transport

Active Care Network is able to provide health related transport in the Penrith, Blue Mountains and Blacktown LGAs. Some of the destinations include:

  • Nepean Public Hospital
  • Lemongrove Community Health Centre
  • Nepean Hospital Cancer Care Centre
  • Penrith Dialysis Centre
  • Blue Mountains Hospital – Katoomba
  • Springwood Hospital
  • Blacktown Hospital
  • Westmead Hospital

 

If you need to go to any of these destinations for treatment and have difficulty getting there please email bookings@activecarenetwork.org.au or call us to inquire. If you need to go to any other destination which is further please give us a call and we may also be able to help depending on available resources.

Transport for personal business and other appointments

Active Care Network is able to assist with transport to medical appointments and any other appointment including personal business. Some of the destinations and purposes for these include:

  • Hospitals
  • GP and Specialists
  • Medical imaging and blood tests
  • Dentists
  • Physiotherapists and other therapies
  • Personal business including hair appointments, visiting family, lawyer, pharmacy visits and taking you and your pet to the vet.

 

People over 65 (or 50 if you’re from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander origin) can apply for this assistance by contacting My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visiting My Aged Care to register and ask to be referred to Active Care Network. If you are under the specified age please contact our office and we will seek to assist you and register you directly if you meet the eligibility criteria. Once registered, you are able to contact our office directly to make any of your future bookings. Bookings can also be sent to bookings@activecarenetwork.org.au.

The cost for this service varies depending on where you live and where you are going. They start at $15 for local trips in the same LGA which include a return trip free of charge.
